2009-2010 Uganda Endeavor
Imagine spending your New Year’s evening resting by the fireplace and eating fried grasshoppers! That is the delicatessen in Uganda to munch on while celebrating an event such as New Years in Africa. The day after Christmas, 2009, I plan on hopping on a plane and visiting Uganda & Kenya for 12 days.
Preparation is horrendous; planning is crucial; and prayer is necessary. After 36 hours of flight from Portland, Oregon and landing in Uganda, I will only have 12 days to fulfill the wishes of 25+ orphanages and follow the founding verse that PCwS was created from (James 1:27).
8 days in Uganda and 4 days in Kenya visiting orphanages and helping out as many caretaker needs as possible with the allocated sum of $100.00 per orphanage (equals approximately UGX 185,000). Many orphanages will be found through networking with Pastors and Fellow Rotarians of Uganda/Kenya.
I have been saving and moonlighting on the side for extra monies for the airfare and accommodations of which will total approximately $3,000. At 25 orphanages with $100.00 allocated to each, the sum totals $2,500.
If you can help in anyway possible with raising funds for the orphanages, it would be greatly appreciated. All donations are tax-deductible; PCwS has been a 501 c3 since August of 2004.
Please mail your checks to the following address with the proper funds designation written on the memo line:
PCwS, PO Box 80383, Portland, OR 97280
Thank you very much.
Love & Grace
